Proposal

Blake has red angus cows and early last April, during calving season, it was his dads birthday, so we went up to his parents house to have supper. When we finished up he asked me if I wanted to go check cows with him. We went down to our house, changed quick and hopped on the four wheeler to head to the pasture. Blake had been wanting to show me his new red and white faced calf and since I'm a sucker for new babies, I couldn't say no.

Once we got out there, he made me close my eyes so he could make it a surprise, helped me off the four wheeler and told me when I could open them. As soon as I did, I started to tell him this was the wrong calf, but then I read her ear tags and it all made sense! This sweet baby calf had ear tags that read, "will you marry him?". I turn around and he's down on one knee smiling so big and of course, I'm crying! Some of the sweetest things he's ever said to me came out of his mouth that day and I will never forget the moment. Once I said yes, we got some cute pictures and went up to tell his family! Then headed off to tell my family. All the while still in shock that we're engaged! After telling my family, we called all of our closest friends and posted on facebook for everyone else to see.

We decided to name our perfect calf Karoline. She will keep those ear tags forever (as long as I have a say about it, ha!).

How They Met

Blake and I met at the American Legion here in town. I was bartending and he was deep in the drinks. It was closing time and all I can hear is this guy yelling "Hey!!!" at me. I turn around and there he is, cowboy hat and all. He asks me, "Are you single?" in which I replied, "yes..." and he says thanks and walked away!

I saw him a couple days later when he came into the bank I worked at, was super polite and reintroduced himself. Next thing you know, I'm out on a boat with him and two of his closest friends having a great time.

The rest is history!
