Amanda and Colton Schroeder Wedding Story
Wedding Date
Saturday, May 18, 2019
We got married in Bismarck, ND on May 18th, 2019. Both our ceremony and reception were held at Sixteen03 Main Events. I knew from the first time I saw that venue, I had to get married there! We celebrated with over 250 of our friends and family members. It was so nice to have everything in one location, and that the team at Sixteen03 took care of nearly everything. Decor, food, set-up and tear-down, and time management was done perfectly by Sixteen03. Our day was so special and such a blast. We constantly talk about getting married again just because it was the most amazing day!
How We Met
My husband Colton and I met when we were 15 and 16 years old. We went to high school in small towns that were close to each other. My best friend from childhood happened to be in Colton's class. We met through her at a school function and chatted off and on for a few months. The summer after we were introduced, we texted every single day. Then, we started to hang out at football games during the new school year and he asked me to be his girlfriend. After being together for over 5 years, he asked me to marry him. We were engaged for a year and a half before finally getting married. We've been together for seven and a half years now!
Planning for Our Day
We had a long engagement, so planning was spread out nicely. We chose the venue about a year before the big day, and everything fell into place after that. We had a really easy time planning because our venue does nearly everything! The food and all decor, flowers, and set-up was done through Sixteen03 Main Events. All we had to do was send the team pictures and ideas and they did everything. We had our photographer, Chelsey Murphy of Rise Images, chosen early on because she was a friend of my husband's family. We used Something Borrowed Blooms for the bridal party's flowers. This was one of the best choices we made during planning! Our rented flowers looked, smelled, and felt real but cost a fraction of the price of real flowers. We took our time planning in order to make sure every decision was the right one.
Hint for Brides
Go with the flow! I was not expecting a rainy, windy, 40 degree day in the middle of May, but you never know what kind of weather you're going to get in North Dakota. We wanted to do all of our pictures outside but ended up only doing the first look and couple's photos outside. However, this didn't ruin the day at all and we were still so happy with our photos despite the setback.
